ACTION RSTCP

Selecting "Action RSTCP" enters the sub-area in which it’s possible to create and manage the "RSTCP" Actions.

These are the basic element for communication via protocol (consisting of commands) with the stand-alone external instrumentation; it’s therefore essential to decide which protocol you want to access the editor because the related Actions will be characterized by an extension that shows the name of the protocol itself.

The "RSTCP" Actions are performed at levels independent of the "GEN" Actions, i.e. they do not share any resources or priorities; they are also independent from each other using different protocols.

An "RSTCP" Action can be defined to continuously execute its sequence of commands, returning to a previous page before terminating; to stop it, it’s necessary to perform another "RSTCP" Action of the same protocol.

The editor of the "RSTCP" Shares is completely analogous to that of the "GEN" Actions; however, the following peculiarities must be considered:

    • the output channels specified, maximum one per page, are the protocol commands in the order necessary to manage the communication, possibly bidirectional, with the stand-alone instrumentation
    • if the command is already complete with its own syntax then naming it without assigning any value is enough
    • if, on the other hand, the command is of the "Run-Time" type (advanced function), then it is associated with a value, numeric or text, written in constant or referred to another logical channel
    • in any case each command is both an output channel, in the sense that it is generated, and an input channel, in the sense that following its generation it can have a value given by the communication return
    • it’s not necessary to set waiting times between the pages of an "RSTCP" Action since each lasts the time necessary to execute the related command
    • it’s possible to build messages by means of successive commands, even if in some cases it is necessary to adopt measures to manage the actual writing times on the ports (advanced function)
    • an "RSTCP" action is executed continuously (background loops) if you return to a previous page, ending only if another "RSTCP" Action of the same protocol is performed.
    • an "RSTCP" action is executed continuously (background loops) if you return to a previous page, ending only if another "RSTCP" Action of the same protocol is performed.
